WORLD’S FIRST TRUNNION SUPPORTED STAINLESS STEEL GRINDING MILL

NCPI has successfully designed, manufactured and commissioned the world’s first trunnion supported, fully stainless steel grinding mill. A project so unique we had to share some detail.

NCPI collaborated with the client to design and deliver a machine that met, if not exceeded, their specific requirements. The product is a work of tailor made engineering, and a world first.

To manage this application effectively and efficiently, NCP’s iteration of grinding mill technology was introduced into the processing stream. The mill was designed by NCPI’s team of engineers to offer strong resistance to the extreme, low pH conditions of the acid in a raffinate solution

Many factors contributed to the surety of the materials, compounds and surfaces. These factors included various testing, and precise material developments. Many aspects of the ancillary equipment were also improved in order to provide robust and lengthened operating life.

Key Features include:

  • Duplex stainless steel mill shell and ends
  • Stainless Steel girth gear guard
  • Specifically designed main trunnion bearings and stainless steel wetted area protection for low pH conditions
  • Fully fabricated, stainless steel feed chute
  • Liners designed for corrosion resistance
  • All sealants and rubber compounds tested for low pH suitability

Skid-Mounted Mills

Convenience Comes In Small Packages

NCP’s range of skid mounted mills are designed to offer a simple, easy to manage grinding equipment solution.

• Our skid mounted mills are perfectly suited to projects with lower tonnages, limited space, or tight deadlines . These modules offer a simple concrete pad solution required for civil laydown. These modules are prefabricated for quicker installation times and offer an “easier to install” solution.

• Depending on the size, these mills and skids can be shipped to site in 40ft containers or on flat racks.

• Our skid mounted mill sizes range from 6ft to 12ft in diameter and from 110kW to 1250kW of installed power.

FAQ

FAQ

Do you have a company brochure or full product catalogue?
You can download our company brochure here, For more information on our product range and our capabilities as a Mill OEM please browse our website further. Alternatively, you can reach out to our sales department to assist you with your requirements at enquiries@ncpinternational.com
Do you supply skid mounted mills?
NCP International supplies Skid Mounted Mills up to Ø3.6m, 1250kW. For more information, please see https://www.ncpinternational.com/skid-mounted-mills/. We also supply Ball Mills, SAG Mills, AG Mills and Rod Mills. The largest gear driven mill we supplied was an 18 MW SAG mill for a project into Australia.
Does your product line include rod mills?
Yes, we do manufacture Rod Mills as part of our mill range. These can also be Skid mounted.
Are you able to quote to our company specifications?
Yes, mills are sized according to client’s metallurgical information supplied. We consult extensively with you, in order to provide the optimum solution.

We also abide by all your mechanical and electrical requirements. As a standard, we adhere to the Anglo American specifications for Grinding Mills.

What are typical delivery times for the various sizes of mills?
Delivery times are dependent on a number of factors including mill size, procurement source and workshop loading.

We offer both new and refurbished mills, so if you have a time constraint, a refurbished mill may be an option to consider.

Depending on mill size and scope of supply – Refurbished mill supply can vary between 8-20weeks.
New mill supply can vary between 26 – 48weeks based on the factors mentioned above.

Are warranties offered
Yes, all new mills are offered with full OEM warranties.

Note that refurbished mills can be offered with warrantee’s equivalent to a new mill to manage client operational risk that is typically associated with pre-used equipment.

What information do I need to supply in order to get a mill sizing and quotation?
We require a minimum of the feed size (F80), product size (P80), Bond Ball Mill Work Index (kWh/mt), feed rate (tons/hr) and Ore Specific Gravity (t/m). However, we would prefer to have more detail so that a proper mill sizing assessment can be completed. Please complete the attached form with as much detail as possible.
Can you offer milling circuit simulation/optimisation at the design and operating stage of the concentrator plant?
Yes, we can assist with optimisation. To achieve this at both the design and operating stages, we will require some representative sample for specific comminution test work. The test work will entail industry standard tests such as the Bond Rod Mill Work Index, Bond Ball Mill Work Index, JK/DWi tests and then some specific batch mill tests. The results of the test work will then be used to determine the parameters required for Simulation. The simulation can then be used to size an entire comminution circuit including crushers (Jaw, Cone and HPGR), screens, SAG/AG mills, Rod Mills, trommels, classifiers, Ball Mills, Pebble Mills and the size-by-size mass balance generated by default can be used to size pumps, pipelines, liners, screens and water lines.
Do you offer second hand or refurbished mills?
Yes we certainly do, please enquire for more details or visit our website for a current listing of available mills in stock.
Do you supply mill spares for other brands or outdated mill designs still operating?
Yes, we can offer mill spares. Please enquire with our sales department ( yolanda@newconcept.co.za ) for further detail.
Do you relocate and/or refurbish and/or install any mill?
Yes, we have completed many such projects in the past and can offer this service anywhere in the world.
What if I have a mill that requires a new shell and/or ends and/or drive train to uprate my production throughput – Can you handle all process, mechanical, electrical and civil aspects of the mill design?
Yes, we have completed many such projects in the past and can offer this internationally.
Can you install a larger mill or redesigned mill on my current civil footprint?
Yes, we have completed many such projects in the past and can offer this service internationally.
A component on our installed mill (such as a motor, reducer, pinion, gear, trunnion bearing, lube system, shell, head, trunnion) is continuously being replaced and adding heavily to our OPEX, Can you offer a technical solution that eliminate this continuous failure?
Yes, we have re-designed many mill components in the past to solve these issues and can offer a solution for your particular problem.
Do you buy second hand mills for stock?
Yes, we do purchase mills that become redundant or are replaced with modern units.
